About
Shiori (栞) — the bookmark you travel with
Most itineraries send you where everyone already points their camera. Shiori doesn't.
I begin from one belief: that travel, at its best, is the quiet discovery of beauty — and that beauty is personal.
What I make looks still. Unhurried. It carries the restraint the Japanese call mono no aware (物の哀れ) — the tender awareness that the loveliest things are passing. But every choice inside it is made with a restless, living devotion. Quiet on the surface; sakura underneath — brief, vivid, fully awake.
I won't send you to the “hidden gems” the internet has already worn out. I send you toward places that answer a deeper need — a tattoo studio that will understand you, a coffee bar worth sitting still in, a garden built for silence, a grave where you can pay your respects, a seat by the water that asks nothing of you. Every place I name is one I've walked, or am on the way to walking.
The path is yours alone. But I leave it open — room for the detour, the chance encounter, the beauty you didn't know you were looking for.
What I am, and what I'm not
I craft for individuals and real families — never groups larger than eight. I am not a guide service, and not a booking agent; I don't stand between you and a place. And every itinerary is made and delivered by me personally — because the places are ones I've walked myself, what reaches you is mine. Not a template. Not a desk of strangers.
If it doesn't move you
Go. And if it leaves you cold, I'll refund you — I ask only for proof you made the trip, and a few honest words about how it felt. I keep a 10% service fee, nothing more, and there's no limit on this. Travel is subjective; sharing taste honestly is my half of the bargain. If I don't hold up my half, you shouldn't pay for it.
